What Should Be Different 90 Days From Now?

Growth has a way of making businesses more complicated.

More people get involved. Decisions take longer. Sales become less predictable. New opportunities compete for attention. The founder or CEO can no longer stay close to everything.

At some point, the path forward gets less clear.

That does not necessarily mean something is wrong. It often means the business has changed faster than the way it operates.

The challenge is figuring out what actually needs to change.

Is it a sales problem? A market problem? An execution problem? A leadership problem?

Because businesses are interconnected, the problem is not always where it first appears.

A sales problem may actually be a positioning problem. An execution problem may be a priority problem. A growth problem may be the result of too much depending on the founder.

That is why I have started asking leadership teams a simple question:

What should be different in your business 90 days from now?

Most companies have no shortage of things they could work on. The problem is that trying to work on everything at once usually means making meaningful progress on very little.

Ninety days creates a useful constraint.

It is long enough to make progress, but short enough to force choices.

Clarify the outcome. Define what success looks like. Understand where you are today. Identify what is getting in the way. Build the plan. Execute. Measure. Learn. Adjust.

The objective is not to prove that the original plan was right. It is to make better decisions as you learn more.

That thinking is what led me to formalize the 90-Day Growth Execution Sprint.

The problems may differ from one company to the next. The discipline should not.

Growth rarely follows a straight line. The companies that navigate it well are often the ones that create clarity, act with discipline, pay attention to the evidence, and adapt.

It starts with a simple question:

What should be different in your business 90 days from now?

If that question is harder to answer than it should be—or you know the answer but are struggling to make progress—I developed the 90-Day Growth Execution Sprint to help leadership teams create clarity, focus execution, and move forward.
